Hey everyone!
First and foremost let me apologize for not posting much during the holiday season. I have been doing this, stressing about that, you know the deal. No excuse for my laziness, but to be totally honest I haven’t been lazy. I have been looking within. (soul searching) As cheesy as it may sound it’s still very true.
Last year my major goals were to get my own clients in the New York City and surrounding boroughs. Check. Thank you to all my fabulous clients! Secondly move to a larger and more convenient apartment in Brooklyn. Check. Love my apartment! These were my two major goals for last year and I achieved them.
Sometimes it feels like not much progress is happening in your life but during my reflection of 2012 while facing 2013, I must say I did good.
During the last year I have had a lot of skeptics and critics, naysayers and down right haters, toward my goals and I let them affect me and my loving partner. This year is about believing in myself at the core, rebuilding relationships, learning, and building a strong business.
My goals for 2013…..
- Meditate daily
- Work out 3 time a week
- Be a better partner to my boyfriend and best friend
- Truly believe in my talent and abilities
- Rebuild my relationship with my family on more equal terms
- Building new relationships and clients for Causer+Lai
- Paint more….
Thank you for all your support this year. Stay tuned for more adventures! Here we come 2013!

I’m sure most of you know that I have joined forces with my partner, Benjamin Lai, to create Causer+Lai. As a team of master painter and surface designer we have collectively created a beautiful collection of decorative wall finishes for residential and commercial spaces.
We are not your average decorative painting company! We like think of ourselves as pioneers in mixing modern design with old world painting techniques. Our love of Street Art, African colors, Japanese patterns, Jazz, Basquiat, and Gold have all come together with in our collection.
I’m so excited and honored to be creating with one of New York City’s finest Master painter’s. During this process I have learned so much about myself and the creative avenue I’m taking within this life. Causer+Lai has allowed me to revisit my first love fine art painting and apply it in interiors spaces.
Please check out our work and let us know what you think!
Enjoy!

Biedermeier baby!
The rise of the middle class! I have always been a fan of Biedermeier but lately I’ve become obsessed with mixing it with modern elements. This is no new concept, yet you don’t see it a lot. The middle class during 1815–1848 in German speaking countries, were eager to show off their taste in the decorative arts by simplifying the French Empire Style with local inexpensive woods. The flat broad silhouettes of this era are simple yet timeless.
