I am getting more and more excited about my travel plans to Uganda! The time has come again for me to travel to collect and interact with others to absorb more inspiration and ideas. I met a young lady on the streets of PDX last summer and now we’re planing to travel with a few others to Uganda. There we plan to do some ground work for her amazing company Nakate and also build connections with more local artisans. Stay tuned for more details!

The video above is from West Elm, who continues to grow their brand by partnering with artisans from around the world. Recently they have launched a few collections from South African craftsmen and women. As a designer I try to work with local craftsmen and women to really enhance the final product of what ever I am creating. I would love to continue this practice on a more national and globe scale.

So much to think about…. First thing first get vaccinations and stick to my budget! A girl has got to save!
