On a Sunday stroll on Atlantic Ave in Brooklyn, I stumbled upon a small carpet and kilim shop. Kea is a fabulous little shop that sells rugs from all over the world. Susan, I believe the owner, was educating me on the meaning and back-story of each rug. Kilims hung on the wall like art and She was absolutely lovely. Very cool place!

DIRTY PINK!
Dirty or dusty pink it’s all the same. Weathered and wonderful, dirty pink is like the real version of it’s self. The un-perfect the soft and slightly damaged.

Est article opens with, “Sarah Lavoine is the Kate Moss of the interior design scene in Paris.” Okay my interest is peeked!

Not only does she sound uber chic but, the use of paint and color in the above interiors is intriguing. Notice how she cuts the wall with color transition and breaks-up the space to create focal areas, all with just good old paint.

This is no new concept, yet you don’t see it a lot. The middle class during 1815–1848 in German speaking countries, were eager to show off their taste in the decorative arts by simplifying the French Empire Style with local inexpensive woods.
