On a Sunday stroll on Atlantic Ave in Brooklyn, I stumbled upon a small carpet and kilim shop. Kea is a fabulous little shop that sells rugs from all over the world. Susan, I believe the owner, was educating me on the meaning and back-story of each rug. Kilims hung on the wall like art and She was absolutely lovely. Very cool place!

Biedermeier baby! The rise of the middle class! I have always been a fan of Biedermeier but lately I’ve become obsessed with mixing it with modern elements. This is no new concept, yet you don’t see it a lot. The middle class during 1815–1848 in German speaking countries, were eager to show off their taste in the decorative arts by simplifying the French Empire Style with local inexpensive woods.
