Artist Statement

I paint imagined landscapes that reflect the feminine connection to nature. My paintings, which take the form of oil on canvas and plaster on wood panel, come from my research and an emerging sensations from within my body. Listening to these sensations, I follow the stories that interest me. My sources range from the Paleolithic sculptures, the forest, my dreams, folklore, and markings of egalitarian societies on cave walls to my experiences as a woman living in America. Through my research, I am developing a visual language that describes where I am undivided from the earth through time and memory, feelings and questions, a sense of place, doubt, and mystery.
